About

Eliott Simon graduated in January 2024 from Maastricht University with a Master’s in Artificial Intelligence, after previously completing a Bachelor’s in Data Science at the same institution. During his Masters, Eliott did an Internship at the European Space Agency where he developed AI tools to predict the shape of tumbling space debris.  His Master’s Thesis intitulated “Sample-Level Out-of-Distribution Detection in the context of Medical Image Segmentation with β-VAE and Likelihood Regret” tackled the critical domain of distribution shift analysis in Brain Tumour Segmentation tasks.

After his studies, he moved to Liège and worked at Safran Aero Boosters in the field of Generative AI, more precisely in the development of a Chatbot that relies on the GraphRAG architecture. In October 2025, he started his P.h.D at the University of Amsterdam under the Supervision of Clarisa Sánchez and Hoel Kervadec. He will work alongside the company AtMoves and the Amsterdam UMC in the field of Medical Image Segmentation for Knee Arthroplasty.
