RESEARCH AREAS
Although vascular diseases are a powerful predictor of cardiovascular mortality, they are typically underrecognized and undertreated. This is particularly true of peripheral arterial disease (PAD) which is associated with a number of limb-related complications, such as lower extremity amputation and acute limb ischemia, and which is in addition, a predictor of future myocardial infarction and stroke.
To enable personalized vascular disease management, the aim of the project is to develop methods for patient-specific AI-based prediction of PAD progression and to determine the risk of cardiovascular events using multi-modal patient data, including CTA, duplex ultrasound, and digital subtraction angiography (DSA), clinical and multi-omics data.
This project is part of the Horizon Europe-funded VASCUL-AID consortium.
