About

Vikram Venkatraghavan completed his Ph.D. degree (cum laude) in the Radiology department of Erasmus MC, Rotterdam, in 2021 (Promotor: Prof. Wiro Niessen). His thesis focused on developing intrinsically explainable machine learning methods for understanding and predicting the progression of neurodegenerative diseases from multi-modal (MRI, PET, and fluid biomarkers) data. Thereafter, he did a post-doc in the Neurology department of Amsterdam UMC (location VUmc) with Dr. Betty Tijms and Prof. Wiesje van der Flier, further building his expertise in developing machine learning methods for understanding Alzheimer’s disease progression from multi-modal (MRI, genetic, and cognitive) data and for MRI harmonization. His current research focuses on developing reliable AI for predicting adverse outcomes in pregnancies with fetal growth restriction using multi-modal (Fetal ECG, Doppler ultrasound, and blood-based biomarker) data with Prof. Ivana Išgum and Dr. Wessel Ganzevoort.
