ELLIS is a pan-European AI network of excellence that focuses on fundamental science, technological innovation, and societal impact. ELLIS Fellows are outstanding scientists who are advancing the field of machine learning and AI and acting as ambassadors for ELLIS. They provide strategic advice and leadership to help build and grow the network.

To become an ELLIS Society Fellow, a faculty member must be nominated and evaluated based on a set of objective criteria. These include a high number of publications in top-tier conferences, significant research impact (e.g., h-index or citations), and recognition through prestigious awards, honors, or grants.
