We are happy to announce that Bob de Vos became Assistant Professor in the qurAI group. His research will mainly focus on the Research Priority Agenda of the UvA AI for health-decision making, a collaboration program between Faculties of Medicine, Science, Humanities and Law. In his work, Bob will develop socially responsible machine learning methods for identifying the risk of hospitalization in cardiac patients. The patients are followed at the outpatient clinic and at home, with lifestyle advice and titration of medication, and in case of deterioration, they are hospitalized. The path towards deteriorating is subtle and requires interpretation and a combination of multiple data sources including medical images, ECG signals, and diverse clinical parameters.
