Development of automatic tools for discovery of new imaging biomarkers using deep learning that can improve prediction of AMD progression.
Alessandro Ardu studied Cognitive Psychology and Psychobiology (BSc) at the University of Padova and Artificial Intelligence (MSc) at Radboud University, Nijmegen. He worked at the Diagnostic Image Analysis Group (Radboudumc) between September 2019 and December 2020 as a PhD candidate supervised by Clarisa Sánchez. His research focused on deep learning algorithms for the prediction of disease progression in intermediate age-related macular degeneration.
