Carolina obtained her bachelor’s degree in Bioengineering – Biomedical Engineering in 2021, from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, as a joint programme with the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences of the University of Porto. Currently, she is undertaking the last year of her master’s degree in the aforementioned course and faculties. In September 2022, Carolina joined the qurAI group at the Amsterdam UMC, as a master intern under the supervision of PhD student Roel van Herten and guidance of Prof. dr. Ivana Išgum. Her internship project focuses on the development of a deep learning method for the automatic identification of coronary artery bifurcations and detection of veins, directly from the MPR images of the coronary arteries extracted from CCTA scans.
