Coen de Vente obtained his MSc in Biomedical Engineering (cum laude) at the Eindhoven University of Technology, where he followed the Medical Imaging Track. His graduation project focused on automated prostate cancer detection and grading from MRI. Since September 2019, he is a PhD student at the Diagnostic Image Analysis Group (Radboudumc). His PhD is part of the IMAGE-R project. Under the supervision of Clarisa Sánchez, he works on deep learning techniques for the screening of eye diseases from retinal imaging, in collaboration with Thirona. He is also part of ICAI Thira Lab.
