About

Ioannis Lagogiannis graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Physics from the University of Crete, Greece. He obtained his master’s degree (with high distinction) in Biomedical Engineering and Medical Physics at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), Germany. Having developed an interest in deep learning for medical image analysis, he joined the Lab for AI in Medicine of TUM to write his master’s thesis. There, he investigated deep unsupervised methods for pathology detection on multiple medical imaging modalities, under the supervision of PhD candidate Felix Meissen and Prof. dr. Daniel Rückert. In October 2023, Ioannis joined the qurAI Cardiovascular Lab at the Amsterdam UMC as a PhD candidate. Under the supervision of  Prof. dr. Ivana Išgum, he works on developing AI methods for extracting anatomical and pathological information from dual-energy and photon-counting coronary CT angiographies.
