Marinka obtained her MSc in Technical Medicine at the University of Twente, where she followed the track Medical Sensing and Stimulation. Her graduation project focused on developing a VR environment to teach medical residents how to steer an endoscope. Since February 2019 Marinka started her PhD with the cardiology department, focusing on eHealth in congenital heart disease, under supervision of dr. M.M. Winter, dr. B.J. Bouma and prof. dr. Y. Pinto. In February 2020 Marinka joined Prof. dr. Ivana Išgum’s Cardiovascular lab, in which she analyzes single-lead electrocardiograms.
