Matej obtained his master’s degree in Information Studies, with a focus in data science, from the University of Amsterdam in 2023. As part of the Pancreatobiliary Hepatic Artificial Intelligence Research (PHAIR) Consortium at Amsterdam UMC, he dedicated his master’s thesis to crafting a sophisticated deep learning-based approach for predicting Postoperative Pancreatic Fistula from MRI scans. In October 2023, Matej embarked on his Ph.D. journey under the joint supervision of Prof. Dr. Henk Marquering and Prof. Dr. Ivana Isgum. His research is part of the VASCUL-AID project, a pioneering initiative set to transform the landscape of cardiovascular disease management. His specific focus lies in predicting disease progression for patients dealing with Peripheral Arterial Disease.
