Mitchel obtained his MSc degree in Technical Medicine at the Delft University of Technology in 2020. During his study, he learned to bridge the gap between medical experts and engineers. In 2019, he did an internship at Griffith University (Gold Coast, Australia), where he validated inertial measurement units for kinematic analysis of human movement. For his master’s thesis, he developed a deep learning model to analyze the lower extremity function of patients with patellar tendinopathy directly from video. Mitchel started his PhD in October 2020 at the Department of Cardiology. He works towards artificial intelligence to support risk stratification and decision making for patients with coronary heart disease.
