Roel is a master’s student in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Amsterdam (UvA). He obtained his BSc degree in Artificial Intelligence at the UvA in 2020.  Roel is currently working on his master’s thesis in the qurAI group at the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Physics and at the Department of Cardiology at the Amsterdam UMC. His project focuses on automatic fibrosis segmentation from cardiac MRI. Roel works under the supervision of Bob de Vos (qurAI) and Fleur Tjong (Department of Cardiology).
