Zhiwei Zhai received his Master in Computer Science and Technology at the Harbin Institute of Technology in 2014. He did his master practice as an algorithm engineer at the Alibaba company. In 2014, he became a PhD student in the Division of Image Processing at Leiden University Medical Center under supervision of dr. Berend Stoel and dr. Marius Staring. In March of 2020, he obtained PhD with the dissertation titled “Automatic quantitative analysis of pulmonary vessels in CT: methods and applications”. Currently, he is working as a Postdoc in the Cardiovascular Lab at the Amsterdam University Medical Centers. His current project is on deep generative models to synthesize CT data, led by Prof. dr. Ivana Išgum.
