Clarisa Sánchez and Cristina González-Gonzalo will be presenting at the 21st European Society of Retina Specialists (EURETINA) Congress. This year the conference takes place virtually between 10th-12th September 2021.
Clarisa Sánchez will present at the EURETINA Session on Retinal Imaging, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data. There, she will talk about the latest work of the Eye Lab on Biomarker detection for early AMD in OCT scans, recently published in the American Journal of Ophthalmology.
Cristina González-Gonzalo will present at the Prize Papers Session for Artificial Intelligence her latest work on “Deep learning for automated stratification of ophthalmic images: Application to age-related macular degeneration and color fundus images“. In this work, she focused on the stratification of color fundus images based on multiple features related to age-related macular degeneration at different hierarchical levels. She further analyzed the robustness of the proposed automated stratification system when the amount of data available for development is limited. This work supports that deep learning is a powerful tool for the filtering and stratification of ophthalmic images, and has the potential to reduce the workload of experts while supporting them in research and clinical settings.
