About project

There is an increasing number of adults with congenital heart disease due to improved technology and improved surgical techniques. However, these patients tend to get problems later in life due to their altered heart physiology. They are prone to develop arrhythmias that requires treatment, but it is unknown when during their adult life they will develop these arrhythmias. In this project the aim is to monitor these patients at home by means of a single-lead ECG, a blood pressure monitor and a scale that provide information indicating requirement for intervention. During monitoring single-lead ECG measurements are used that are acquired by wearables (e.g. Apple Watch, AliveCor). In this project, we aim to to develop an algorithm that analyzes single-lead ECG to identify cardiac arrhythmia. This project is carried out in collaboration with the Department of Cardiology.
